finally caught up with my timetable =).
i figure that stalin, even with all his party power, and glorification of himself as an all-knowing, all-powerful father figure, was never quite happy. look at how he paranoidly sent 7 million people to the gulags. a man full of insecurities, i say. it must have been a bother to constantly wonder who might 'outdo' him next.
